Poker Strategy - Have A Poker Advantage

May 28th, 2009 | No Comments »
Posted by admin under Poker

Going into a poker game without a good poker strategy is like asking to lose money.  You are better off to just turn your money over as other players will have a poker advantage over you.  In order to be successful when you are playing the game of poker, you need to have a good poker strategy.

Many players play off the cuff and take a lot of chances when they are playing poker.  Some players are more risk taking than others.  Poker does involve a great deal of risk and many players are inclined to bluff their way through a game to try to get others to drop out.  This is a very risky strategy and is not recommended, especially for the beginning poker player.

If you want to have a poker advantage, the first thing that you need to do is to have a good understanding of the game and how it is played.  The strategy that you use for each game should depend on the game that you are playing.  Some games will have consistently higher winning hands than others.  If you are playing a game like Texas Holdem, you have more of an opportunity to have a poker advantage than in other games.  This is because the community cards that are gradually flipped up in the center of the table can be spotted by everyone. You actually know three of the cards that are going to be included in the hands of the other players.  The problem is that you do not know which three cards and what the other players have as their down cards, or pocket cards.

A good rule of thumb when you are looking for a poker advantage is to have at least a pair in the beginning of the game.  This is conservative playing but usually works well.  Instead of hoping to get something and staying in the game, putting more money in for bets, you can drop and wait until the next deal.

You should also be sure to keep watching what other players are doing for your poker advantage.  Betting is always done in sequence for this purpose.  If you see a lot of players are simply calling bets or dropping and you are holding two pair, you have a chance to win.  However, if you see constant raising and no one leaving the game, then it is more probable that someone has a better hand than you.

If you want to develop a good poker strategy, learn how to play the game, practice often and watch how other players bet.  Having a good strategy clearly gives you a good poker advantage no matter what type of poker game you are playing. Read the 100 Essential Texas Holdem Poker Tips and take your game to the next level.

Women Poker Players: Our Secret Advantage at the Tables

May 27th, 2009 | No Comments »
Posted by admin under Poker

This is just for the women who play poker so men go away! Seriously, you can’t read this if you’re a dude. I recommend that the male reader go to the next post right away. You don’t want your manhood being questioned because you’re reading an article written STRICTLY for women players!

Ok ladies, now that I got rid of all the men let’s talk shop. Men are an assuming bunch. We love ‘em, we hate ‘em. You know how that goes. A woman can use her female wiles to advance her poker game. Here’s why. Whenever a woman sits down at a poker table (even a virtual poker table online) the men at the table make an assumption. That assumption is usually that the woman will not be as good a poker player as the men are. They don’t give women credit for the ability to be good poker players. I guess they don’t think we can master the strategic part of the game, or maybe we just can’t grasp mathematical concepts. Maybe we lack the aggression to be good poker players. We’re just too passive by nature to be any good.

When I sit down at the poker table I prefer to think of myself as “the black widow.” Sure, I smile sheepishly at the men. I may fumble my chips awkwardly. I start up lighthearted conversations and react seemingly with awe when my male counterparts win a hand. I flirt - oh my, how I flirt! I may even show missed drawing hands that make it appear that I’m playing loose. Do not be fooled by my antics for I am weaving my web of deception, waiting for the unsuspecting male black widow to arrive (so what the hell do they call the male of their species?). I seduce the poor fellow and have my way with him. Alright!! Get your mind out of the gutter. I simply mean that I build a huge pot and he still thinks I’m the sheepish woman who couldn’t possibly play poker. And then I spring my trap. I push in a huge bet knowing I have the nuts. What’s the poor guy to do? He’s pretty much pot committed and he can’t lose face in front of his male cronies. He calls my bet and I flip over the nuts and rake in a big pot. Another one bites the dust! Hey, maybe I should act surprised here and say I thought you had me beat - that sure was scary. And so it goes.

I’ve actually been sitting at a poker table playing with the guys and they nudge me under the table to let me know I should get out of the hand. Aside from the fact this isn’t fair to the other players - I do appreciate their protective nature sometimes. I notice sometimes that guys will try to teach me the game and show me their hands at the end of play. It all works in my favor. I’m making mental notes fast and furiously.

A woman poker player should work to develop her bag of tricks. Among these should be her black widow routine, playing the dumb blonde and flirting with the enemy. Poker is about developing a winning edge. Deception is built into the game. The next time you sit down at a table full of men, realize that most if not all of them will be judging you incorrectly until you prove them wrong.

A funny thing happens after the guys catch on to you. They start believing you every time you push your chips into the pot. This makes for some wonderful opportunities to steal the pot!

Ain’t it great being a woman? Just be sure to keep it between us, ok.

How to Play Omaha 8 | Omaha high-low split eight or better

May 21st, 2009 | No Comments »

How to Play Omaha/8

The second most popular poker game today is Omaha high-low split eight or better, mercifully shortened to Omaha/8. Omaha/8 can be a very profitable game, as many players don’t understand the rules and how to determine the best low hand. Here is a short tutorial explaining the rules and how to play.

Omaha/8 is played in limit and pot-limit with the final pot often split between the best high hand and best low hand. Omaha/8 is spread nine or ten handed and has a rotating blind system. Each player is dealt four down cards, often called hole cards. Then three community cards are dealt face up in the center of the table. This is often called the flop. Another card is dealt face up and called the turn, followed by the last card being dealt face up called the river. Rounds of betting are before the flop, after the flop, after the turn and after the river.? Each player must use exactly three cards from the five community cards and two from his or her hand in any combination to form a high hand and a low hand. The same two cards do not have to be used for the high and the low. Please note that if there are not at least three community cards ranked eight or below, there will be no low hand and the entire pot will be awarded to the best high hand. The most important rule is: Each player must use exactly three community cards and two hole cards. It sounds simple, but many players, especially at lower limits don’t understand the rules. Many times two players will have the same low hand and split the low half of the pot. This is often called “getting quartered.”
In Omaha/8, there is an 8 qualifier. This means that to have a hand that qualifies for low, you must have five non-paired cards eight or below. One thing that often confuses players is how to correctly determine which hand is the lowest. The easiest way to do this is to read the hands backwards like a number. For example, 8 5 3 2 A would be read 85,321. The lower the number, the lower the hand. Here are a few examples in order from lowest to highest to help you understand how this works.

A 2 3 4 5 ??????? 54,321
A 2 4 5 6???????? 65,421
2 3 4 5 6????????? 65,432
3 4 5 6 7????????? 76,543
A 2 3 4 8???????? 84,321

Omaha 8 Starting Hands
Omaha/8 is a game of winning both the high and low pots on the same hand or the high when no low is possible (called a scoop) and having a good hand with the opportunity to improve to a better hand (a redraw). This is why starting hand selection is so important. Most of your starting hands should include hands that have the possibility to scoop and offer redraws. The most common hands have an ace because an ace can be used for a high hand and a low hand.? Another important concept is having counterfeit protection. If your only two low cards are A 2 and an Ace or 2 falls on the board, your hand loses much of its strength. By playing hands like A 2 3 K or even 2 3 4 6, you give yourself counterfeit protection. One of the worst things that can happen is if you have A 2 and a made low hand and an Ace hits on the river to give the low to someone else.
One of the biggest mistakes that inexperienced Omaha/8 players make is playing too many hands. Just like effective holdem strategy, winning Omaha/8 players only play 20 to 25% of the time. However, especially at the lower limits, you will see 7 to 9 players seeing the flop often. It is very important to not fall into the “well, everybody else is doing it” mindset. Because everyone works with four cards, you must often have the best possible hand to win. By playing too many hands you will find yourself making second and third best hands and losing money with them.
Unlike holdem, position is not one of the most important issues in selecting your starting hands in Omaha/8. That is not to say that it is of no importance. It is still better to act last because of the added information available to you. The reason it is not as important as in holdem is because, as mentioned above, you often need the best possible hand to win, and after seeing the flop you will have a good idea of the chances of it happening as well as often having the correct pot odds to draw to it if you need to.
In holdem you only start with two cards so you have only one combination of two cards. In Omaha you start with four cards that create six unique two-card combinations. The best starting hands have all four cards working together. Hands that have three cards working together and one that doesn’t (a dangler) are much weaker than ones with all four working in conjunction
Here is some specific advice about your starting hand selections. As you are learning to play Omaha/8, I suggest only using the following hands. An x denotes any card of any rank. A w denotes a wheel card (2, 3, 4 or 5). A t denotes a trump plus the ten (T, J, Q, K). 1
1. A 2 x x
2. A 3 x x If the ace is suited to one of your other cards.
3. A w w x As long as the two wheel cards are not the same)
4. w w w w Four wheel cards, even if you have one pair, but not if you hold two pair or trips.
5. A t t t An ace with three high cards, especially if the ace is suited, is a strong high hand.
6. t t t t Four high cards, even with a pair or two pair.
The above guidelines are meant to be used while you are learning the game. As you
gain experience and learn your opponents playing styles and hand selection, you will be able to play a few more starting hands. Hands with an A, 3 and two high cards are often playable as well as hands containing an ace suited to one other card that offer straight possibilities and some low potential like Ah 4h 6c 8s.

Pot-Limit Omaha/8

For those of you thinking about taking a shot at pot-limit Omaha/8, here are a few strategies and points that must be considered. Everything discussed here is with the assumption you are a good limit Omaha/8 player. If you are not a good limit player, immediately abandon the idea of playing pot-limit unless the money you are using is purely discretionary. In my experience, this is the most brutal and unforgiving poker game available at high stakes today. Even if you are a good limit player, I recommend starting at a much lower buy-in than you are used to playing until you can handle the differences between limit and pot-limit Omaha/8.

By now you know that most of the profit you make in Omaha/8 is from the mistakes of your opponents and playing hands that offer good scoop potential. This is magnified to a great degree when playing pot-limit, and when you add having a made hand with a redraw to a better hand you have covered just about everything of importance. Because of the nature of pot-limit, the pot can quickly become very large and you can lose a great deal of money on drawing hands. Here are the three biggest mistakes, other than poor starting hand selection, I see players make. The first is calling large bets with only a draw to half the pot, the second is raising with only three players in the pot with only a low hand and the third is calling bets with second and third best hands with no real chance to improve to the best hand. Because of the great possibility of being quartered with a low hand, when less than four players are contesting the pot, every dollar you put in the pot may only return seventy-five cents.

I have put together a short list of rules to live by when playing pot-limit Omaha/8. If you don’t live by these rules, you surely will die by them.

1. Only play starting hands that offer scoop potential, including high only hands.
2. This is a game of scoops and redraws.
3. Don’t draw to a low only hand against a made high hand.
4. Be careful to not trade a dollar for seventy-five cents very often.
5. Be patient and let your opponents make mistakes.
6. Don’t lose much money with second best hands. Wait for the best possible hand to get most of your money into the pot.

Sir Richard hammond  was overheard to exclaim at a recent poker training event “It’s vital to start with a check list of what you need when learning poker. I’d recommend that first and foremost you need to get trained properly - without proper training you won’t win hands and make the sort of money that will pay the rent”

1. Search for an online course - hopefully there is no cost
2. Practice what has been taught
3. Search for a suitable mentor online to help you progress your game

6. Don’t get caught bluffing too often

10. Practice, practice and more practice, that’s the only way to improve and learn

The recommendations are a great way to start on the road to being a good poker player. A Flokati rug is a wool rug. They date back to 5th Century Greece, where they were used by Vlach shepherds, near Samarina, Greece, which is the highest village in the Pindos mountains.
After the rug is hand-woven from 100% wool, each flokati rug is placed, for up to approximately forty hours, in a soap-andhemical-additive-free whirlpool bath filled with water from canal-channeled mountain streams from the Pindos river. It then emerges decadently thick because water pressure has caused its pile to swell. The flokati rug then is hung up to dry naturally, and raded according to the weight of its wool (Alphabetically). This is then usually put onto a synthetic backing. The heaviest, most luxurious flokati rugs weigh up to approximately 4000 grams per square meter.[citation needed]
Even though these rugs have been a part of Greek tradition for centuries they are also a favorite of contemporary designers.[citation needed] Flokati rugs are available in a variety of colors.
Flokati rugs are very popular today for teenagers or preteens. Flokati rugs that you might find for a cheap price may not be genuine, not be made of wool, stain and get dirty very easily, unlike genuine rugs.[citation needed]
Flokati rugs became well-known as a prize on the 1980s TV game show Press Your Luck.[citation needed]

Check out these Creative Sites for Kids

Are you looking for some creative sites for your kids to enjoy? Think about what they love to do already, or that they tell you they are old enough for but you don’t think so. For instance it can be challenging to allow your child into the kitchen when you make meals. They tend to get under foot and there is the risk of being burned. They can create meals though at cooking games. They may want to make lemonade, cakes, hamburgers, or an assortment of other food items. There are so many fun different games to choose from that they will be content to play these games. This is a great way for them to learn to appreciate what you do in the actual kitchen too. When they have to hurry and complete meals in a given period of time or they have to clean up from them they see all the work that goes into them. Of course they will be playing them online so the images are virtual but they will definitely get the idea. Ask girls what they want to be and it is often a bride, a princess, or even a fairy. They can create them at dress up games with a variety of looks that they are going to love. Since they get to pick all of the items then these become their own creations. They can choose their favorite colors for them as well. Barbie dolls can be hard to play with due to the small openings on the clothing but this allows them to play with just the use of the computer and the mouse. Makeovers are part of the fun too makeover games because they can apply as much makeup as they want as well as a variety of cool accessories. They can give someone a makeover before they go on a date, to a party, or even transform a plain girl into a glamorous rock star. It doesn’t get any better than that! You will love the fact that all of these sites allow the kids to have a good time without any risk as they use the internet. They don’t have to pay to play these types of games either which is nice for you. Now when they want to use the computer or they complain that they are bored you can provide them with a great opportunity to have some fun.

Horse harness

I want to introduct something about Aftermarket Lithium-ion PDA Battery. Aftermarket Lithium-ion PDA Battery Model: PDA battery for T650 Capacity: 1,800mAh Voltage: 3.6V Payment Details: Payment Terms:

Horse in harness with horse collar

A horse with a breastcollar harness pulling a sleigh
A horse harness is a type of horse tack that allows a horse or other equine to pull various horse-drawn vehicles such as a carriage, wagon or sleigh. Harnesses may also be used to hitch animals to other loads such as a plow or canal boat.
There are two main categories of horse harness, “breaststrap” or “breastcollar” design and the collar and hames design. For light work, such as horse show competition where light carts are used, a harness needs only a breastcollar. It can only be used for lighter hauling, since it places the weight of the load on the sternum of the horse and the nearby windpipe. This is not the heaviest skeletal area; also heavy loads can constrict the windpipe and reduce a horse’s air supply.
By contrast, the collar and hames harness places the weight of the load onto the horses shoulders, and without any restriction on the air supply. For heavy hauling, the harness must include a horse collar to allow the animal to use its full weight and strength.
Harness components designed for other animals (such as the yoke used with oxen) are not suitable for horses and will not allow the horse to work efficiently.
Putting harness on a horse is called harnessing or harnessing up. Attaching the harness to the load is called putting to (British Isles) or hitching (North America). The order of putting on harness components varies by discipline, but when a horse collar is used, it is usually put on first.
Parts of the harness

An illustration of a horse harness with full collar.
Parts of the harness include:
A collar to allow the horse to push against the harness with its shoulders and chest. Two main alternative arrangements (with some intermediate types):
A horse collar (or full collar). A padded loop fitting closely around the horse’s neck, pointed at the top to fit the crest of the neck. Used for heavier pulling, especially when used without a swingletree or whippletree.
A breastcollar. A padded strap running around the chest from side to side. Used for light work, or for somewhat heavier work it is used together with a swingletree or whippletree to allow each shoulder to pull evenly on each step without rubbing.
Hames (if a full collar is used). Two metal or wooden strips which take the full force of the pull, padded by the collar.
Breeching (pronounced /?br?t???/, “britching”). A strap around the horse’s haunches allowing it to set back and slow a vehicle, usually hooked to the shafts or pole of the vehicle. Used for a single horse, a pair, or in a larger team, only for the wheelers (the animal or pair closest to the vehicle). The leaders in a team do not have breeching, as they are in front of the shafts or pole and so cannot slow the vehicle. Breeching may also be omitted in fine harness, or when the cart is very light or has efficient brakes on the wheels.
Traces or tugs. The straps or chains which take the pull from the breastcollar or hames to the load.
Saddle. A small supportive piece of the harness that lies on the horse’s back (not the same as a riding saddle).
Girth. A strap that goes firmly around the girth of the horse to attach the harness saddle.
Belly-band. A strap that goes more loosely under the belly of the horse, outside the girth. Prevents the shafts rising up, especially on a two-wheeled vehicle (where weight on the rear of the cart may tip the front up).
Back band. A strap going through the harness saddle to join the belly band either side. Takes the weight of the shafts or pole. In cart harness it is replaced by a chain running in a groove in the harness saddle, hooked to the shafts either side.
Sliding back band. In a two-wheeled vehicle the shafts are fixed to the vehicle to hold it level. On a side-slope, one shaft will be higher than the other, and in this case the back band is normally allowed to slide sideways through the harness saddle, so the horse can walk upright without strain on the harness.
Fixed back-band. In a four-wheeled vehicle the shafts or pole must be allowed to hinge up and down, to allow the horse and vehicle to pass over hillocks and dips. Often the shafts are independently hinged, and on a side-slope these will each hinge to follow the horse, and a sliding back band is not needed. However, if a sliding back band was used with independent shafts it might allow one shaft to ride up higher than the other, and so for such shafts the back-band is normally fixed to the harness saddle. On other four-wheeled vehicles the two shafts hinge together,…(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about bearing cover, clay bricks, . Cooking Games make the Task Fun
